Venetian Panino

This panini is all about texture: crispy crunch from the outer shell of the bread, soft and chewy, smooth creamy and smoke cheese and turkey combination. From all angles this panini is divine. Yet another recipe from Giada de Laurentiis. I discovered this recipe during college and fell in love with its simplicity. Sometimes simple is more.
4oz gruyere
1tbsp butter room temperature
1 tbsp grain mustard
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1/4 lb of smoked turkey
French Loaf
Grate the gruyere cheese, add butter, garlic, and mustard and blend in a food processor.
Slice french loaf into 1/2 inch thick and lather the cheese mixture on both sides. Heat the turkey slices (2-4 depending on how meaty you like your sandwiches) in the pan or microwave it slightly. Put the sandwich together and add a drizzle of oil in pan and toast both sides.
Pure joy for me. The turkey complements the cheese perfectly.
Gourmet it up: Add spinach, tomato, onion or even red peppers. These are perfect party sandwiches- Slice into bite size, stick a bamboo stick and serve on platter. Gourmet and delicious!
