I grew up in Northern Virginia, just 15 minutes away from Washington, D.C. where there were endless possibilities to adventure out for great food finds. I like to hit up "hole in the wall" places, traditional family restaurants, and of course my love for gourmet cuisine. Out of the numerous restaurants I have dined at major cities (D.C., Chicago, New York, LA) Erling Jensen in Memphis, TN is my top choice for gourmet French cuisine.
Erling Jensen is the epitome of perfection. It's a small rustic restaurant that provides VIP service. As soon as you pull up to the restaurant there's a guy waiting to park your car and another guy to escort you inside. Once inside you get a old fashioned Cirque de Soleil feeling with miniature figurines on a tightrope above you performing stunts.
I absolutely adore their dishes.

Maine Lobster Pancake with Mild Mushroom and Scallions
Gorgeous, delicate, and divine crepe over fresh mixed greens. Dressed in a savory mushroom sauce. Fresh dill accompanied by a large piece of lobster. Mind you there's more lobster inside.

Herb Roasted Veal Chop with Wild Mushroom Risotto and Asparagus
Excuse my manners, when I see a good piece of meat I can't help myself to just DIVE in. Do you just see the size of that veal chop? It was the size of my hand and 3 inches high, I swear. Exquisitely grilled over smooth and creamy risotto, paired with a rich pan sauce topped with wild mushrooms. Yum all across the board!

Earl Grey Creme Brulee with Citrus Madeleines
I am not the biggest fan of creme brulee due to certain texture attributes, however, this dessert won me over. Impeccable crystallized sugar across the entire dish, rich and creamy filling with specks of vanilla bean. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this dessert. It's a great spin on a classic dessert. Please if you are EVER in the Memphis area, you need to try this restaurant. This is my "Best French Restaurant I've Ever Had"
